Many families came together for the ImmSchools Family Night on February 12. There were plenty of fun games, good food, great music, great company, and important information that needed to be addressed. Many Multilingual Nations came together for the night and were considered one family.

Social Worker and multilingual liaison at Camden Academy, Ms. Urena, said that events like these are important to the community.

“It is incredibly rewarding and gratifying to see that influx of students and families from different parts of the world,” she said. “It is important to celebrate heritage and diversity, making sure we feel included and bringing in this community with many hearts.”

Many families spent time playing card and board games and enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Latin American Restaurant. The meal led into a lecture by ImmSchools, providing families with vital information they need to know.

“I came out this evening because Ms. Urena reached out.” a parent explained. “I was grateful to bring my family out tonight to learn.”

One of the students at the event said, “My favorite part of this evening was painting with my sisters.”

The next ImmSchools Family Event is Thursday, May 21.
