Pride Article

This morning marks the end of a journey for the 4th grade students at Camden’s Pride Elementary School.

The 4th graders were celebrated on the turf with staff and classmates coming together to honor their accomplishments. There were plenty of tears of joy as students hugged their friends and teachers, reflecting on the memories they’ve built throughout the year.

It was a heartfelt celebration recognizing their growth, hard work, and everything they’ve achieved this school year. As they prepare to move on to the next chapter, they leave with lasting memories and a strong sense of pride.

Opening remarks were shared by Mrs. Hahn before students made their way onto the turf and took their seats. Students then sang a few songs led by Ms. Balko, as several teachers were moved to tears watching the growth and accomplishments of the entire 4th grade class over the year.

Mrs. Hahn, proud of her students, also shared words of encouragement as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives, saying, “I hope they take everything they learned from elementary—kindness, respect—and carry that on to middle school.”

Fourth grader Tyler Edwards, soon to be a fifth grader at Camden’s Promise, shared his excitement about what’s ahead, saying, “I am ready to start 5th grade. I want to keep what Mr. Anthony taught me—how to do number patterns.”

Another soon-to-be fifth grader, Bella Gutierrez, also shared her thoughts about the transition. She admitted she feels a little scared, but said one of the lessons she wants to carry with her into Camden’s Promise is to be a good student and continue doing her best in the years ahead.

As the celebration came to a close, students left the turf with applause, hugs, and a few more tears of joy. It was a special moment that reflected just how much these students have grown throughout the year. The 4th grade class now looks ahead to their next chapter at Camden’s Promise, carrying with them the lessons, memories, and experiences that will continue to guide them moving forward.
