Camden's Pride 1st Grade Spotlight!

Pride's First Grade team is full of amazing teachers that bring their love of teaching to the virtual table each day.  From Google Slides to Bookwidgets, they are expanding the vocabulary of their students and getting them on board with subtraction and addition.  These ladies have been focused on getting their students excited to learn and expanding those foundational skills.  Although this year has been different, they are still packing a powerful punch of first-grade awesomeness!

Here are some quotes from the ladies: "I love teaching first grade because of the amazing students I get to work with each day. Although I wish I was able to see them in person each day, virtual learning has been an exciting time in first grade.  During virtual learning, my students have had so much fun learning new sight words, exploring virtual libraries, and going on scavenger hunts." Ms. Stovall

"Teaching first grade is one of the most fulfilling grades to teach! One of the reasons I love teaching first grade is because of reading! Seeing a child enter first grade with only background knowledge of their letters and sounds, and then watching them progress through the year and begin reading with understanding and awareness is extremely rewarding!  It is fun to teach children at this age the importance of respect, responsibility and independence; traits they will carry with them as they move forward in school. I feel very lucky to be a first grade teacher!" Ms. Cassidy

"I love teaching 1st grade because my students are always excited to see me each morning. I love being able to help them learn how to read, add and tie their shoes! They also tell me the best stories that make me laugh and brighten my day!" Ms. Chellew

"I have always been a creative person and I love the energy of children!  As a teacher, I can use my creativity to inspire young children as they progress on their learning path."    Ms. Bohn
